Town Hosts Successful Spring Clean-Up Event

May 19, 2019

The Town of Geneva held its second annual Spring Clean-up Day on Saturday, May 18 to the delight of many town residents.  The town accepted electronic waste bound for a recycler, including computers, monitors and old TVs that filled 20 pallets and containers.  Household items that filled a truck were donated to the Salvation Army, and large items and materials left over from home construction projects filled the large container bound for another recycler.  This event is one of several that flow from the town’s Solid Waste Management Plan, which diverts materials from the landfill.  Check the town’s website,, for more events and programs, such as the food compost program that provides backyard compost boxes and kitchen buckets for composting at home or bringing food waste to the town’s Recycling and Disposal Station.
