New Seneca Watershed Steward
Ian Smith has been hired as the Seneca Watershed Steward with funds secured from the 2018-19 state budget for the Town of Geneva. Ian has an office at
the Finger Lakes Institute of Hobart & William Smith Colleges and will assist with the work of the Seneca Watershed Intermunicipal Organization, chaired by supervisor Mark Venuti, and on the Nine Element Watershed Plan being undertaken by the lake and local government associations of Seneca and Keuka Lakes. Keuka Lake drains into Seneca Lake and is part of the Seneca Lake watershed. The two lakes contain about half of the water of the eleven finger lakes.
